why discriminate landline owners-LED30July2007

Landlines haven’t been spared of telemarketers That cell phone users will be spared of telemarketing calls by September 5 is welcome relief from those pesky callers (July 28). Why are landline owners not given the same relief? We also suffer equally.

Stupid IMA-LEDSTOI-17 Jul 2007

I am aghast at the Stupidity and
purposelessness of IMA at threatening to
Revoke DR Basavaraj for practising his avocation.
What is worse is IMA is clubbing this with two doctors in Telgi Case who made falsified statements for bribe.

Dr Basavaraj has not been convicted for Malpractise.
He is serving mankind by even being useful to a society which has condemned him for reasons right or wrong.
This is the height of hypocrisy.

Thousands of Doctors are murdering people due to negligence and outright malpractise, while this organization is chasing one man who is probably upholding the high values the profession professes.

500 tax on TVs-LEDSTOI-10 Jul 2007

This is with reference to the days' news item that the government is contemplating imposing 500 rupees tax on every Television set.
The gall of this failing government is incredible.
The East India company attitudes are not to be tolerated 3 centuries later.
The program content and presentation overall miserable and the news outdated with 24 hour news channels and internet.
What is more no one watches the government mouthpiece any longer.
If the government needs a mouthpiece they can buy it off the existing channels for a lot less cost and better results.
Sell it off to the highest bidder.
Prasarabharathi a meaningless vestige and
should be removed like the appendix in human body is when it causes appendicitis.

AIDS down by 50% over 2007-7 jul2007

HAH! The whole report is totally beyond belief by any test of reasonableness. It appears to be an excerpt from a sponsored report like those from enquiry/fact finding/investigative/disciplinary commissions setup by the government. Did any miracle/catastrophe -like the big bang- occur in the last year to create this phenomenon? There are no medical miracles, patient education initiatives or increase in moral standards over the last year that this sudden drop can be atributed to.The only conclusion can be that this was a designed survey to prove the government's efforts in combating AIDS was successful atleast to a 50% extent.
