Got lost Gowda?-leds21jan2010

This is with reference to Mr Gowda's lame response that he has withdrawn his "words".
Answering the prayers of thousands of Kannadigas "GET LOST GOWDA" Mr Devegowda seems to have gotten lost.
Being a Kannadiga and son of soil in any order he prefers,
he should be aware of the kannada proverb Aadida matu bitta baana himbaralaradu.

BT Brinjal- eat and die-Internet debate-11Jan2010

Infant (read dangerous) technology is foisted on developing countries by the western researchers for 1) recovering the research costs, human dangers be damned 2) to by pass the stringent western standards for such doubtful products for human health or consumption or 3) even produce data from the III world countries as a pilot experiment for eventual introduction into the west. Our pliable, corrupt scientists and politicians are slobbering for the few dollars these companies throw at them to get this sanction. What shocks me as a microbiologist, is that Bacillus thuringiensis a cousin of the infamous human pathogen Bacillus anthracis- anthrax bug- is made out to be harmless. We need to remember that it is a virulent pathogen for insects, and we just do not know how pathogenic this bacterium is when introduced into the food we eat. May be we should run a pilot experiment on the west by feeding humans with insects dead from B thuringiensis infection.

BWSSB approach on RWH confrontational-leds8Jan2010

This is with reference to the BWSSB ultimatum to install Rain water Harvesting systems in old buildings by 27 May 2010. or face the threat of disconnecting water - which we hardly get- and sewerage services.
I wonder which specific clause of the BWSSB rules permit disconnection of sewerage and how do they propose to enforce it?
This ruler/ruled confrontational approach adapted by government and its agencies is totally uncalled for in a 6 decade old democracy.
Citizens should be considered as partners. But I suppose, this is inevitable since the government and its agencies have failed consistently to discharge their duties to their own or the citizens satisfaction.
Hence we are cursed to live uncivilized- no water, power, quiet or clean air- in a world # 42 Mahanagara.
Sincerely yours,
