counterfeits worth zero

How can counterfeit notes be worth anything? As if the denomination printed on the note increases their value? Penalty should depend on the count(number of fake notes in possession). The reporting needs to be rephrased suitably. Infact the number may make the threat more meaningful in real life as a warning.

Death penalty for corruption, adulteration and drug dealing

Totally agree with the readers sentiments that adulteration and even corruption and drug dealing should be punished by death. Otherwise India will self destruct like Bhasmasura. Politicians are the mohinis.

honest suffer for bureaucratic inefficiency, corruption, illegal connections

This is the fate of this unfortunate country. as if there are no illegal power connections? It is likely those who have illegal gas connections have illegal power and water too!Bureaucrats are inefficient and corrupt. The honest people have to pay the price. Why should this exercise be on and off all the time? Some honest bureaucrats are killed too by the petrol and kerosene mafia because they interfere in the illegalities.

Government Undertakings- fit for interment

The governments be they of India or state like Karnataka, were the biggest corporate raiders in post independent India. Seeking to destroy in the name of socialism,
Mysore Electrical Industries and Air India are examples of successful private organizations which were taken over by sheer cussedness( resistance to guidance ).
Too late the governments seem to realize that by virtue of design they have no ability to run profitable organizations.
Anything they takeover literally become government UNDERTAKINGS,(The profession or duties of a funeral director) fit only for final interment.

BJP should pay punitive compensation for bandh

BJP sonsored bandh businesses and victims should file for punitive damages and economic losses in courts against the party. Particularly BMTC/KSRTC etc should seek penalty for wilfully damaging public property.

Shame BJP

If this does not prove that the BJP government has miserably failed on all fronts I dont know what else will.
The Governor must be feeling hemmed in all directions at the inability of the existing system to uphold the constitution. The founding fathers failed to foresee this situation despite all their wisdom. Goondaism wins over Gandhism in this great land of the Mahatma. Eternal Shame on us.

BJP stop producing spoilt brat CMS

BJP is acting like a single offspring parent, tolerating Yeddyurappas tantrums. It is high time the CM stops acting like a spoilt brat picking fights with everyone at school and coming home in the evening crying. The result for the world to see is BJP appears like a parent who should not deserve to have a child-read an opportunity to form a government anywhere.

sandal soap stinks

sandal soap stinks of corruption in high places
Did not the committee look into the relationships between the officials in power at the time the contract was passed in a weeks time in 2001 and the executives of the chennai based company?
They should have also looked into the administration in the ministry responsible for the functioning of KSDL at that time

police donot act because!

The reason for police inaction is most likely statistics. Crime statistics, number of solved crimes, cellphones or other property stolen, etc on the stations beat. That is the reason the police refuse to take the complaint as given and instead want tailored complaints so no dirt sticks to them.

BJP maya!

The anticorruption agenda is only a plank for votes. After election it just becomes a path for making money hence corruption. That is why even the rishis munis and hindutva leaders call life a maya- illusion. Anticorruption is itself corruption and vice versa. we the stupid citizens of this country are still to absorb this high philosophy and reach nirvana(Nitya nirvana!)

Parents are responsible for Minor childrens traffic violations

7 January 2011, 01:14am IST
Absolutely. It is a common sight to see "proud" parents showing off their minor childrens abilities
»More

Absolutely. It is a common sight to see "proud" parents showing off their minor childrens abilities in driving 2 wheelers solo or with other young riders, cars whose controls they can hardly reach etc. Even TV shows highlight these scofflaw violations. It is no excuse or consolation that nothing dangerous happened. As a punitive measure to dissuade other similar criminal violations (if these violations are not yet criminal they should be as they damage the society) both fines and jail terms should be imposed.

Legalize robbery

This severe customer inconvenience is the result of a toothless tiger enforcement interferes in transactions which are best decided by market factors. Either enforcement become stringent or legalize this robbery. That way atleast citizens will not wallow in a false sense of secu rity.

Karnataka governor is not a constitutional toy in the cabinet's hands

This BJP government has done everything in its powers to antagonize the governor, by deeds and words intentionally. They have also displayed a total lack of ethics and morals in running the government. Repeatedly displaying double standards, one for their own party men/accomplices and another for opposition. They have protected and promoted corrupt government officials, leading to a total breakdown of law and order all over the state. Most of the right thinking citizens are happy that the governor did not choose to read out the fake citations of this government and further rub salt into the already bruised citizens wounds.

they are lenient because the autodrivers are the traffic police bread and butter.the police have to deal with the same faces year in and year out. mamool business. The passengers are just an annonymous lot whom police donot have to ever see again.

Shameful Mr Bidari- CM should hang his head in shame

This is shameful bootlicking by Le Meridien hotel. It owes its guests an apology and the shameless ACP should return the gifts or report it in his Income tax returns. Donot these cops understand the dumb ramifications of their actions in these days of instant global coverage?
This is utterly shameful behaviour of Mr Bidar's cops and Mr Yeddyurappa should hang his head in shame.

so this is why KMC is pussyfooting the issue in Patne case

This information uncovered by mirror explains why KMC is barring the doctor lawyers from appearing on behalf of the patient's relatives.(Dec8th 2010-http://www.bangaloremirror.com/article/10/20101208201012080535098694808a1d1/Kapali-Patne%E2%80%99s-death-pits-doctors-against-lawyers.html)
KMC Pussyfooting the issue by a rap on the wrist of erring doctors is hardly going to arrest the loss of faith in Medical profession in India. They need to take a strong stand in the matter since it is a question of reputation of the entire profession and ethics. It is a do or die time for medicine in India.

Gross misuse of SC ST act provisions

This is gross misuse of provisions of SC ST act, supposed to protect the beneficiaries, but is being increasingly misused to harass non SC STs under criminal intimidation. The Politicians ofcourse donot care that this reverse discrimination violates the basic civil rights of all non SC ST citizens. Under the circumstances it is the duty of the judiciary to ensure that Indian Constitution is not destroyed in the process.
