Yeddy muck hitting fan

Lakshmi Iyer's write ups are very readable well researched and written.
If BJP had taken a strong stand at the beginning of Yeddys revolts and tantrums they could have salvaged some image of a disciplined party. Now a days yeddy seems to have taken to shooting muck over his shoulder. "I shot an arrow into the air it fell to earth I know not where". But since it is muck(Sh**) it has tendency to hit the fan, very much like spitting into the wind. So everyone in BJP is smothered in it.

Regarding the front page item 11may 2012 "any kind of film on cars----"



I am most of the time a champion for the police, giving them a lot of lee way in



their behaviour given the constraints of their duties.



But this over the board, perverse interpretation to the disadvantage of the vehicle owners and drivers seems to justify the vehement public perception that the police are more interested in harassing rather than enforcing the rules.

Do they not realize this interpretation can open them to contempt of court ? and violation of CMV act.

or are they out to make the government in power more unpopular?

It is commonly believed that police action represents government's attitude to peoples woes.

art is very personal taste, should not be thrust on the public

Art is a very personal taste. One or two elected representatives cannot take on the burden of catering to Bangalore's global metro tastes without offending many. Why not enforce ban on honking to save hearing

Editor, Bangalore Mirror Sir, It is highly fulfilling to law abiding citizens that the traffic police under Dr M. A. Saleem diligently enforcing the latest , most welcome Supreme court order on tinted windows in vehicles. If the same police and traffic authorities enforced 14 year old SC order WP#20050718 and cracked down on the reverse horn, musical air horns more diligently, 8000 people can be saved from noise induced deafness with each honk. Constant and unnecessary honking contrary to popular belief that it demonstrates cautious driving, is in fact a certain index of reckless driving as can be heard on roads.

Almost invariably their meters are also tampered. When I demanded that one auto driver gie me his number - of course I know Kannada but cannot quickly discriminate 2369 etc- he said namkelli bartaite ? It is a matter of deep shame that we have allowed "bhashaabhimaana" to cloak criminality and violation law so far. It should be stopped immediately.
