Tughalaq alive and kicking

We specialize in keeping traditions kicking.10 rupees a day keeps the vice(WISDOM?) away!
It is highly reassuring to see that national college authorities are making allout effortsin keeping Muhammad bin Tughlaq's legacy and memory alive 800 years after his death.

Shame on you Narvekar-Ex Law minister Goa

Shame on you Narvekar. There is no smoke without fire. There must be some or whole lot of truth in the complaint. It is also obvious to any Indian that Narvekar has no comment right now because he is manipulating the officials and the system to kill the complaint by a B report.
Mapusa Police Inspector Rajesh Kumar will be under severe pressure to issue the B report. Media should assist investigation to ensure that truth will not be killed in the land of the Mahatma.

Highhandedness or refused mamool?

May be the bar refused to pay mamool?
The Bureaucratic rules should be clear as to what licenses should be gotten to operate a restaurant bar or business.
The(intentionally?) vague rules encourage bureaucratic corruption and highhandedness. This totally discourages enterprise.
The only way such highhandedness can be controlled is by courts imposing severe compensatory and punitive damages on the authroties.
Internal investigation is virtually worthless eyewash in any department.

Dung slinging

This type dung(apt? for us a country of cow worshippers?) slinging between parties in the arena, the only faces that are splattered are those of the sheepish voters.

ofcourse, Hegde should get one more term

Of course as Lord Krishna said to" uphold dharma", Hegdes have to be sambhavami yuge yuge. In these days of utter corruption, gems like hegde are invaluable and have to be cherished and nurtured for the state to clean up its rotten image.

sordid BDA/Politician tale

This is a BDA/politican sordid tale making a scapegoat of the last purchaser Raju.
It is well known that special allottments are a virtual cash cow donation to the allottees by the government/politicians in power. The 1500 percent profit in six months proves that.
It also raises the serious ethical question were Kumar Bangarappa etal probably aware that the allottment was dubious and wanted to get rid of it in a hurry? and they did.

witch hunting jayamala in 23 year old case whither statute of limitations?

what a scandalous waste of government resources in raking up some 23 year old "claim". It does not make any difference it is government of kerala or India, it is tax payers money that is being thrown away. There are better uses for the money and resources. Is there no sanctity for statute of limitations? Government should be areligious and not promoting one religion or culture. Infact, considering the enormous cascading effect religious sentiments have on the society's fragile balance even after 60 years of independence, governments should downplay such incidents rather than raking them up for cheap publicity.Such tactics translating into votes at the polling booth is very unlikely for any political party

what rot?

What amazing anticonsumer rot is handed out by Karnataka Medical
council and its chairman Dr Chikkananjappa?
It is a well known fact that KMC is a toothless tiger in taming the
avarice and malpractises rampant nowadays in aggressive, intrusive,
exploitative medicine. This is simply a dilatory tactic to wish away
the complaint by KMC and the involved hospital. Dr Chikkananjappa
should clarify with statistics in how many cases has KMC permitted
lawyers to argue malpractise case against doctors? How many cases
argued by lawyers have they heard and decided?Do they have the ability
to decipher a lawyers argument?
How many cases of medical malpractise have come up before them in the
past 10 years? among those how many have they found guilty? how many
have been let off? what was the maximum punishment for those found
guilty? Have they yet debarred the doctor found sexually assaulting a
female patient a few years ago?
I think the suffering Patients have a right to this and other related
information so they can decide for themselves how effective is KMC in
curbing Medical Malpractise?
This must be the first time ever in the history of modern medicine a
medical council not allowing expert doctors to appear on behalf of
complainants!
Why is Mr Dalal wasting his time complaining to KMC? They have no
powers to restitute, compensate or prosecute. They can only rap the
knuckles or take away the doctor's license at best.
He should know nothing will come out of it. He is better off filing a
case in consumer forum and getting his medical experts to cross
examine, instead of banking of DOCTOR CHIKKANANJAPPA And KMC's legal
acumen or knowledge.

kudos to ms sangeetha-

Dr. H.K. Sehgal (New Delhi)
06 Dec, 2010 05:48 PM

I am appalled by the childish statement of the "victim" and the eagerness of the media to turn the event into a big story, as if something unusual and great has happened. Much worse is happening everyday, everywhere. Why was this event turned into a story shows the calibre and professionalism of the media

I have to say that Ms Sangeetha did a great job. If we are all waiting for the worse things to improve by folding our hands and waiting we will be waiting for centuries.
We should not forget that a child died in an ambulance while it was held up for PM Manmohan singh. are a few minutes of his time is more important than a child's life?
Things will improve in only when every citizen demands and gets accountability like Ms sangeetha did. Kudos to her.

model needs counselling

Sounds like the model hankers for attention and may be needs professional counselling?
While it is fine to be a human rights activist, she needs to prioritize the issues. Her claims of being an activist is extremely suspicious since the only person who benefits or is limelighted is herself! Dated : Friday, December 03, 201010:27 PM

Katta's resignation

Katta's resignation long demanded, expected is too little too late to have any positive effect on his or his party's and
the government's image.
The conspiracy he alleges is of his own son and associates.
With children like this you donot need enemies as King lear said.
How we wish these ministers would stop their verbal diarrhoea and
dignifiedly leave the scene for the society to act as per its prevailing
laws?
